The Archean era is the most ancient stage of life on our planet. It began about 4 billion years ago, when volcanoes raged on the red hot Earth, and meteorites used to constantly fall from space. By the end of the Archean era, the first living things had appeared in the seas of our planet. It was during the Archaean era when the evolution of life on the Earth began. It was then that the first supercontinent of Vaalbara and the single World Ocean appeared on the Earth. It was then when the first rock formation was born. Rocks were the first solid shell of the cooling fiery liquid globe surface.
